Pi-chan

I mentioned in my last post that I was thinking about buying a parakeet to keep me company… well here he is!

Pi-chan
I bought him because he was the youngest at the bird store (as I mentioned, there were only 6 parakeets), but he hasn’t lost his forehead stripes yet, so he is still a baby. He’s sitting on my shoulder now, and he’s been pretty good for these past few days. He learned to step on to my finger very quickly, and already today he was letting me pet him and scratch his head with my finger… He loves his cage, though, and it’s hard to get him to come out or stay out sometimes.

Argh my shoulders are sore… and one of my legs… mainly due to the way I sleep I think. Futons are a bit tougher than my broken bed back home, so I have to find a better sleeping position.

Thankfully the air is finally cooling down, so I can open my windows during the night instead of using the air conditioner.

A lot of people have asked me what my two “big mistakes” were in my first week. Well, I’m not sure how serious they really were, but it was embarrassing anyway. Basically it was just a case of teaching the wrong lesson… Normally our lessons follow a specific calendar so we know what lessons to teach on what days. Well, my schedule doesn’t exactly follow the calendar. Actually, many of my lessons don’t synch up like normal. That, along with the fact that my first week was super packed and chaotic (busy schedule, plus moving in, and all that), and the fact that the previous teacher didn’t fill out the final week of attendence so I was slightly confused about what lessons I was on got me a bit confused. So it wasn’t anything traumatic for the students, but I think it put some unnecessary stress on my coworkers. Oh well… I think I’ve made up for it by drawing animal pictures to hang on everyone’s classroom walls.

Argh, I really really want internet in my room soon! I’ve got so many messages that are impossibloe to keep up with at my current pace, as well as a few jobs to do online as well, which I’d really like to get done. Sigh… Maybe just a few more days? I hope…?

That’s all I’ve got the energy to write right now… Thanks for reading!
