My Next Project

There’s only 3 days left in October, and that means only 3 yokai left. How sad! Now that A-Yokai-A-Day is wrapping up, it’s time to plan my next project. Every day this month I’ve had more views on my blog than ever before, and I wanted to say thank you to all of you who have been checking back every day to see my yokai, and thanks for all of your comments and emails! It’s been a pleasure to hear from you.

So, I want to tell you about what’s coming up after the yokai are finished.

First, as many of you have asked, I will be offering prints of the yokai very soon. I’ll post again here when they’re ready, and you’ll be able to buy them from my Etsy store.

Second, while it’s too early to go into details, I plan to continue painting yokai and collect them into a book with an original story connecting all of them together. It will be a long time before it’s available, but you should know that this isn’t the end of the yokai, so I hope you’ll continue to come here and check on the news of the book.

And third, my next painting project! I will be continuing to paint Japanese themes. Starting in November, I will be doing portraits in ukiyo-e style paintings. I’ll post them here as soon as they are available, and you’ll see an example of one very soon. I’ll be taking commissions on this project, so if you’d like to commission a portrait in kabuki-style, or noh-style, or even one with yokai, send me an email and tell me what you’d like!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the final few yokai, and have a happy Halloween!
